Notice of Disaster Recovery Enhancement Funds

The Calhoun County Board of County Commissioners will apply to the Florida Department of Community Affairs for a $184,033.89 Disaster Recovery Enhancement Fund (DREF) grant. The DREF grant can be used for residential mitigation, or repair/mitigation for infrastructure (such as roads) affected by the 2008 storms. At least half of the funds must be used for projects that primarily benefit persons in the low/moderate income range. The County is considering using DREF funds to pave roads that have had storm damage. To propose a potential project for consideration, or for additional information, call Don (Sonny) O’Bryan, 850-674-8075 no later than 8:00 a.m., June 20, 2011.
